Understanding "Nontraditional" Student Experiences in and out of U-M classrooms (panel conversation)
This panel conversation will feature commentary and resources from individuals across the university who support the success of students with a diverse range of identities, backgrounds and experiences that may not be readily visible. This includes student parents, veterans, first generation, transfers, and those in recovery from substance abuse. Our goal is to provide instructors with a deeper understanding of how these students experience university life in and out of the classroom in order to inform their own teaching. The audience will have the opportunities to participate in a Q&A with these experts and walk away with concrete ideas for supporting the diverse needs of these students.
