Applying Equitable Assessment Practices in Your Instructional Context

This “flipped” workshop is a follow-up to the Fall 2021 CRLT workshop “Introduction to Equitable Assessment Practices” which introduced a general framework to investigate the question “What does assessment have to do with equity?” In this follow-up workshop, instructors will begin to apply equity-minded assessment practices in their programs and courses. The facilitators will lead the participants through a series of interactive exercises so that participants will be able to better understand what equitable assessment could look like in their own instructional contexts and develop a plan for equitable assessment practices to inform future work.

NOTE: This is a flipped workshop with expectation that participants will spend approximately 30 minutes online (via Canvas) prior to participating in the 90-minute synchronous session. You will need to review the framework and bring an example of your assessment work (e.g., course assignment, program assessment plan, draft of a survey, etc.) to workshop during the synchronous session.
