Teaching with Technology Consultation

CRLT consultants work with faculty and graduate students who are interested in learning about specific instructional technologies (IT) or integrating technology into their courses. Such collaborations can be particularly useful for helping instructors explore IT options, consider how technology aligns with their course goals, and evaluate the impact of IT in their courses.

Instructors might meet with a consultant to discuss how to:

  • select high tech and low tech options for the flipped classroom
  • incorporate new approaches to teaching in a technology-rich environment
  • create an inclusive learning climate and improve student success with technology
  • use emerging technologies such as Canvas, Piazza, U-M Box (formerly M+Box), Google suite, among others
  • assess the impact of technology on student learning
  • leverage technology to deal with instructional challenges such as encouraging student participation in large courses and providing easy access to multimedia
  • use technology for testing, assignments, or informal feedback about student learning
  • ensure that all students are able to access and use IT successfully
