Teaching About Race & Ethnicity in Predominantly White Classrooms (Inclusive Teaching @ Michigan Series)

This workshop is intended for instructors interested in learning how to ethically and effectively teach about race, ethnicity, and inequality in predominantly white classrooms. Instructors may worry that teaching about and discussing race and ethnicity in classrooms that lack racial and ethnic diversity may bring up issues such as tokenism, misrepresentation, silence, and resistance. This workshop is designed to offer a framework and strategies to help prevent and address these issues as they arise. This workshop may of particular interest to instructors teaching R&E courses, but is open to all.

This workshop is part of this year's Inclusive Teaching @ Michigan series. Click here for registration information for the full series.
