Flipped Instruction: Engaging Students Inside and Outside the Classroom

This workshop will incorporate flipped instruction using online and face-to-face components that will provide a practical learning experience and instructional strategies for instructors wishing to implement flipped classroom environments. Those who have started working with flipped classroom techniques and who wish to learn more and further develop their plans will also benefit from this workshop.

During the online component (starting October 23, 2019), participants will get an overview of flipped pedagogy, learn how to use and create videos and pre-class assignments, and work through some essential considerations such as how to engage students with flipped learning content.

Participants will engage in practical hands-on active and collaborative learning experiences (bring your laptops or tablets) during the face-to-face component on October 30, 2019 (12:00 pm - 2:00 pm) and start drafting a flipped teaching lesson/unit plan for one of their courses with their peers.
