What are some topics in your field that might lead to difficult classroom dynamics, controversy, or big emotion in the classroom? How can you approach such topics with intention and careful planning? How can you be ready when conversations emerge that you hadn't realized would feel high stakes for your students? This session will help instructors think about whether and how to devote significant class time to high stakes topics and provide strategies for transparently framing your pedagogical choices around such subject matter.
