Building your Learning Community: Creating & Facilitating Collaborative Online Experiences

Registration for this workshop is now closed. If you have any questions, please contact online-teaching-academy@umich.edu

One frequent concern of instructors is how to connect to students online as well as connecting students to each other online. This workshop will cover ways to create class discussions, group work as well as cultivate social presence in the class.

This workshop has been designed to be put to immediate use in planning your Spring/Summer courses, and will therefore include some pre-workshop engagement plus next steps for creating your course following the workshop.

Topics include: Crafting and facilitating asynchronous discussions, using synchronous sessions wisely, group work as well as cultivate social presence in the class.

These workshops are part of the CRLT and CAI co-developed series on online teaching.

Registration is open to anyone at U-M, but in the event that we have a large number of registrants, we will prioritize attendance for those who are teaching online during Spring 2020.
