In our Fall 2021 consultations with instructors, we heard about challenges to active learning and discussion in HyFlex classrooms—classes where some students are in-person, while others participate remotely through video-conferencing software like Zoom. In this interactive synchronous session, we’ll consider questions such as: How do I effectively manage the technological components of the class with all the other demands on my attention? How do I encourage more engagement from students learning remotely? What type of activities are most conducive to the HyFlex format? How can I bring together my in-person students and my remote students? This session is designed to support instructors teaching in-person with some students connecting virtually over Zoom in Winter 2022.
