Data-informed Teaching: an Introduction to (Practical) Learning Analytics

Session Format: Hybrid (Synchronous In Person or Remote registration available. See session abstract)

Intended Audience: Faculty, Admin/Staff

Facilitator(s): Heather Rypkema

Session Abstract: Higher education is a data-rich landscape, but how can faculty leverage (or even access) these data to make pedagogical decisions in their courses? In this hybrid workshop, we will share learning analytics case studies from the Foundational Course Initiative, review available resources, and discuss questions you have about your students and their learning, and how that might inform your teaching strategies. Participants will come away with a better understanding of how data can be used to inform course design, and action steps (large or small) for using data to better understand and support learners in their courses.

Registration: This session will be offered simultaneously in person and over Zoom. If you plan to attend in person, please click on the "Register for this Event" button at the bottom of this page to navigate to the in person registration form.
