Over the years, CRLT has developed guidance to help instructors facilitate classroom discussion when controversial or tragic incidents become foremost in students' minds. Here is a set of general guidelines to use whenever controversy arises: CRLT Guidelines for Facilitating Discussions on Controversial or High-Stakes Topics
 

In the past, guidelines were developed for the following topics:

  • Guidance for UM Instructors Leading Class Discussions on the Tragedy of September 11, 2001
