Dance & Dialogue: Human Contact and Democracy
How can the body be a laboratory for examining dialogue, choice-making, roles and habits? In this critical theory seminar/ interactive workshop, geared toward instructors of all disciplines, choreographer and U-M MFA alum Eryn Rosenthal shares some of her research on the connections between an "art-sport" called Contact Improvisation and the political writings of activists from South Africa, Spain, the US, and elsewhere. What can the body bring to larger discussions of dialogue-building, diversity, inclusion and empowerment in U-M's different learning-teaching environments?
