Community Engagement Series - Maximizing Impact with Strategic Course Design
Co-sponsored by: Edward Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning, Center for Engaged Academic Learning
This co-led workshop will offer a hands-on approach to curricular design for faculty either developing new community-based learning courses or transforming existing courses. Those beginning with course ideas will be introduced to tools designed to move from the conceptual stage to the articulation of concrete learning goals and activities. Those seeking to revise existing courses will share common challenges, explore evidence-based strategies, and workshop ways for applying these strategies to their own courses. Please bring your course idea or a working syllabus.
This session is the third in a three-part series of Community Engagement Workshops that follows an opening address by Hiram Fitzgerald, Associate Provost of Michigan State University (1/31). For more information on the other Community Engagement Workshop sessions, please see Engaged Design: Developing Community-Based Learning Courses (2/8) and Effective & Ethical Partnering (3/8).
