Ask an Undergrad: Consulting with Students about Your Course Materials (Inclusive Teaching @ Michigan Series)

This session offers instructors the opportunity to receive feedback from CRLT’s undergraduate consultants about the inclusive dimensions of selected course materials (e.g. a portion of your syllabus, a writing assignment, a series of exam questions, a slide deck, etc). This 2-hour interactive session is divided into three parts: 1) an orientation to the principles of inclusive teaching, 2) individual breakouts with two undergraduates and a CRLT instructional consultant, and 3) a debrief conversation in which faculty can share what they learned and their next steps. Instructors will be asked to submit materials 24 hours before their scheduled session and to bring four hard copies to the session.  For more on the Inclusive Teaching @ Michigan week, see this CRLT blog post.

This session is open to faculty as well as to GSIs who will be teaching their own courses this spring, summer, or fall.

Please note that Ask an Undergrad is also offered on Wed. 5/2, 9-11am, Wed. 5/2, 2:30-4:30pm, and Thurs. 5/3, 9-11am.  There may be space in one of those sessions even if this one is full.
