Transparency for Equity: Principles of Transparent Assignment Design (Inclusive Teaching @ Michigan Series)

This session is full.

What does ‘transparency’ mean in a teaching-learning context, and how can it support equitable and inclusive teaching practice? This session will provide an overview of key research findings about the beneficial effects of transparency for student learning, especially for those students who have been historically underserved by higher education. We will focus particularly on practices for clearly communicating purpose, task, and criteria in assignment design. During the session, participants will have the opportunity to apply this framework to reflect on and revise assignments from their courses.

This workshop is part of this year's Inclusive Teaching @ Michigan series. Click here for registration information for the full series.
