Building Your Online Learning Community

Remote students sometimes report feelings of isolation and lack of motivation, and have more difficulty staying on schedule with their work. Intentionally building a sense of community in your remote course can help relieve these feelings. In this session, you will learn strategies for helping remote students feel that they are part of a community of learners, and share ideas on how to apply these strategies in your particular teaching context. Before the session, you will need to review a recording describing best practices for creating and maintaining learning communities in remote and hybrid teaching courses. Then, session facilitators will lead groups of participants to reflect on their plans for creating community and exchange supportive feedback with their peers.

Registrants will receive a reminder email with a link to the online meeting.
