Teaching With Digital Collections in the Humanities

Through their digital collections, the U-M libraries put giant caches of texts, images, music, and more at your fingertips. As an instructor, how can you best take advantage of these rich resources? Focusing on courses in the humanities, this workshop will highlight strategies for locating and navigating digital collections relevant to your courses and using them effectively in your teaching—whether in the classroom, or for independent student research. Participants will discuss specific challenges and instructional opportunities afforded by digital collections as well as learn strategies for providing students the guidance and support necessary for working with them.
