Engaged Student Learning: Lessons Learned From the Flipped Classroom

A successful “flipped classroom” includes shifting first exposure, ensuring accountability, and using active learning. This session will feature four panelists describing their approaches to “flipping the classroom”:

* Kenneth Alfano, Engr. Undergraduate Education
* David Chesney, EECS
* Joanna Mirecki Millunchick, MSE
* Steve Yalisove, MSE

The four will highlight their approaches for designing tasks for students to complete before class, ensuring that students are prepared for class, and implementing engaged learning activities during class. Participants will reflect on ways they can use some of these ideas in their own teaching.

Lunch will be provided.

For faculty only.
