Canvas Faculty Learning Community: Getting to Know Canvas

This Canvas Faculty Learning Community (FLC) is intended for faculty who are new users of Canvas and will consist of 3 unique sessions. Each session will be offered twice in the same week, on a Wednesday morning and a Thursday afternoon. Please fill out the form at the bottom of the page to indicate which of the sessions you plan to attend.

Each session will feature:

  • Canvas Update: CRLT will share a brief update on some aspect of Canvas at U-M.
  • Faculty Discussion: You will have an opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from other faculty who are using Canvas. The majority of each session will be devoted to discussion among faculty.
  • Your Feedback: We will ask you to share insights from your discussion to inform the future of Canvas at U-M.

Session Topics:

  • Session 1--Welcome to Canvas and Introduction to the Canvas Community
  • Session 2--Canvas Features (that were not available in CTools), including Speedgrader, Rubrics, and Group Assignments
  • Session 3--Successes and Challenges Using Canvas, Sharing Faculty Examples
