Gameful Pedagogy: What Is It and How Might You Use It?

This session is intended for any instructors who are interested in the concept of gameful learning pedagogy.  Participants will learn what gameful learning pedagogy is and how it might be implemented in a range of courses.  Faculty panelists will share their own understanding of gameful pedagogy and their experiences in incorporating gameful elements into their own teaching.  Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and consider how this pedagogy and these exemplars might be applied to their own teaching.

Lunch will be provided.

Please note that this is the first session out of three in a faculty learning community series about gameful learning pedagogy.  By attending the faculty learning community, participants will join a cohort of interested faculty to explore gameful pedagogy (9/29), work through a gameful course planning process (10/13), and determine how to implement the gameful pedagogy (11/3). Participants are encouraged, but not required, to attend all the following sessions in the series. A fourth session (11/17) will be dedicated to the use of GradeCraft for those specifically interested in using this tool to implement their gameful pedagogy.

Additionally, an engineering-specific, gameful pedagogy event will take place on 11/2.
