Community Engagement Series - Effective & Ethical Partnering

Co-sponsored by: Edward Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning, Center for Engaged Academic Learning

Have you wondered how to effectively partner with communities through your courses? In this co-led session, we will begin by discussing the current spectrum of community engagement at U-M. Participants will be able to dialogue with existing community partners. We will explore lessons learned and promising practices for initiating, maintaining, and deepening partnerships. Participants will leave with an initial list of next steps for their own potential partnering.

This session is the second in a three-part series of Community Engagement Workshops that follows an opening address by Hiram Fitzgerald, Associate Provost of Michigan State University (1/31). For more information on the other Community Engagement Workshop sessions, please see Engaged Design: Developing Community-Based Learning Courses (2/8) and Maximizing Impact with Strategic Course Design (4/5).

This session is open to faculty and staff.
