Approaching Challenging Classroom Conversations: How to Build Dialogic Spaces Using Critical Appreciative Inquiry
This session offered by the Program on Intergroup Relations (IGR) will focus on engaging challenging conversations about sensitive topics, particularly those that may involve strong political disagreements, identities, and social inequality. We will share some findings about using inquiry to build dialogue and engage the group in a critical appreciative inquiry approach that will focus on engaging students to talk with each other as one mode for creating inclusive classrooms. Participants will engage with cases to examine the use of this approach in their own teaching.
