Teaching About Race & Ethnicity in Racially Homogeneous Classrooms (ENCORE SESSION - FULL)

This workshop is full.

This workshop is intended for instructors interested in learning how to ethically and effectively teach about race, ethnicity, and inequality in racially homogeneous classrooms. Instructors may worry that teaching about and discussing race and ethnicity in classrooms that lack racial and ethnic diversity may bring up issues such as tokenism, misrepresentation, silence, and resistance. This workshop is designed to offer a framework and strategies to help prevent and address these issues as they arise. This workshop may of particular interest to instructors teaching R&E courses, but is open to all.
