Overview of the Project:
The project developed a course website that enables collaboration on joint research, wiki-style student interaction, and long-term archiving and publication of student-generated policy reports. This is accomplished by adapting WordPress tools for the U-M web environment. Two students who had previously taken the class were employed to brainstorm useful features for the website. A site template drawing on these ideas was designed in conjunction with TTI consultants, and students drafted text for the website.

Project Objectives:
Develop a platform for sharing student work on the web. Facilitate group collaboration in public policy classes.
Project Achievements:
This project was a success. We were able to develop a sophisticated course website that facilitates conversation outside the classroom, eases group collaboration, and serves as a public face for our China program. The project received positive feedback from the students that it impacted.
Continuation:
Yes. I will continue to improve on the website in the coming years and adapt it for other courses at the school of public policy that have similar needs.
Dissemination:
We have weekly faculty lunches at the Ford School, and I plan to present this project to my colleagues during one of these meetings.
